Winter Date Ideas You Can Enjoy In Your Apartment

By Danielle Wirsansky on February 20, 2021

With both the pandemic and winter going on strong, it can be hard to come up with creative date nights that keep you safe, healthy, and warm. But with a little creativity, you might discover some of the best date night ideas that will make you closer and more intimate than ever. Read on for some winter date ideas you can enjoy in your apartment!

Blanket Forts

Who does not love blanket forts? Enjoy a throwback to your childhood by either surprising your loved one with a blanket or by spending your date building them together. The act of building a blanket fort is tons of fun and can take up a solid amount of time, depending on what configuration you decide to build your fort in. You can decide if your sweetie would prefer the surprise of having the fort built for them and being pampered in that manner or if they would prefer to build it with you and have a say in its design. But once it is built, you can spend the rest of your day and evening there. It is a tight space, cozy and comfortable, and will definitely create an intimate environment for you and your date to spend time catching up, cuddling, and reconnecting.

And you do not have to spend any extra money on this date night because everything you need to build a fort with is something you already have right at home: a chair, some blankets, and lots of pillows!

Movie Night with Projector

As the pandemic has been going on for quite a while, you may be tired of the movie night date trope. It may feel like all you do is watch TV together and that every night is a movie night date simply because there is very little else to do. So spice up your movie night by watching the movie via a projector! It will give your movie night a more vintage vibe and give you a different feel. You also do not have to feel constrained to watching the movie from your couch. You can watch from your bed. You can watch outside, wrapped in blankets, with the movie projected against an outside wall of your house or apartment. Or you can watch it from a blanket fort you have built if you are so inclined.

Around the World Take Out

Takeout might seem like an everyday thing—with eating in restaurants questionably unsafe, the only way to take a break from your own cooking is to get take out. Instead of getting the same old tired take-out from the restaurant you and your date always order from, try something a little bit different. Get take out from around the world!

There are sure to be many local restaurants that would be thrilled to have your patronage. Order a dish of some kind to share from several different restaurants, representing cultures from around the world. Do not order too much because you do not want the food to go to waste. But order enough that you will have leftovers to eat and enough to share between the two of you. You might not like everything that you try, but you are sure to find a new dish or even a new cuisine that you enjoy. Then you can add that restaurant to your rotation of regular restaurants you order from!

Online Cooking Class

Since eating out is not that safe and take out can rack up bills you do not want to pay and you might be really sick of eating your own cooking, something that you and your date can do together is try an online cooking class.

There are a lot of different kinds that you can try, so you can choose based on your preferences. There are free cooking classes that you can watch a pre-recorded video for. This allows you to go at your own pace and make any modifications you want. However, the cons are that you will not be provided the ingredients you need nor will there be any live help if you have any confusion or make any mistakes. You can pay for a live, online cooking class where an instructor will help you along the way and provide you with the ingredients that you need, for a cost. Or you can go somewhere in between—it is up to you! Consider your skill level and what you and your boo might find the most fun and learn how to make a new dish while you are at it!

There are so many different date nights you can still try so do not let staying at home and the cold weather dampen your spirits. Use all of this time at home to strengthen the bond between you and your partner and try new things you may never have thought of otherwise.
